Rance’s Chicago Pizza in Long Beach

I’m a huge pizza fan. HUGE. When I heard Rance’s was opening in Long Beach, excitement ensued. Even though this is their second location, this one is in closer proximity to my couch, so it constitutes as a new favorite neighborhood pizza joint. Did I mention that they value cheese as a life choice as much as I do? I mean, just look at it. The cheese pull – it is glorious.

If deep-dish isn’t your thing, they have other crust options. Speaking of other options, their salads and appetizers will satisfy every palate.

Garlic Cheese Sticks: House-baked dough rolled in our herb and garlic blend, topped with mozzarella and served with a side of marinara

Artichoke Dip: Our famous artichoke dip gently mixed with jalapenos, bacon and spices blended together with savory cheeses

Race’s came about after the executive chef spent years visiting his sister in Chicago. He fell in love with the city staple, but couldn’t find the deep dish satisfaction back home in Orange County. After years of perfecting his technique, Rance’s was born. Ever since, it has made its mark on Orange County, and while their newest Long Beach location is on the LA/OC border, it is technically and officially an LA location.

This is one of the best additions to the Belmont Shore neighborhood in Long Beach. Unfortunately, there are a few too many overpriced or overrated establishments on the stretch of 2nd Street. I’m so glad that Rance’s is now an option for takeout or dining in before nights out on the town. In other great news, if you can’t finish your pizza, it holds up quite well in the refrigerator for a few days. Follow the heating directions on the box, and you will be good to go.

If you are a pizza lover, you will love this pizza. For more information, visit www.rancespizza.com.
