Friday Favorites: Date Night

Since Valentine’s Day is next week, I though I would focus my Friday Favorites post this week on my favorite places to go on a date night! It’s ironic that all of these places are located in and around Hollywood, because that definitely isn’t my favorite place on a Saturday night…way too crowded. If you have time for a mid-week date night, this would be the perfect combo.

For dinner, I would go to Son of a Gun. This place is great for a couple at any stage. If the relationship is new and you are still afraid to eat in front of each other, the plates are on the smaller side and shareable. If you’re like me, you will do yourself a favor and order the fried chicken sandwich. There are veggie dishes, fish dishes and meaty dishes, something for everyone! If you want a more in-depth look, check out my full post on Son of a Gun.

After dinner, you can enjoy a 12 minute traffic-filled drive to the Arclight Theater on Sunset and Vine. The theater has a parking lot which is always a nice find in Hollywood and the theater itself is huge and beautiful! Get there on time though, because the ushers are a little persnickety about late comers and might delay showing you to your assigned seat. Depending on the time you go, the movies that are out, and how far in advance you book, you should try and get tickets to a movie that is playing in the Cinerama Dome. It is a huge round theater with a large screen. It seats over 800 people, so choose your seats wisely (I recommend GG 29 AND 28, but to each his own).

If your movie finishes before 10PM, I suggest driving to Milk for some dessert. They have delicious ice cream, sundaes, milkshakes, and baked goods. There is usually neighborhood parking and the line moves fairly quickly. My personal favorite is the Nutella Milkshake and the Blueberry Pie Ice Cream.
